All 13 libraries provide increased access via our Curbside Pickup option.
How Does Curbside Pickup Work?
With Curbside, there is no need for an appointment! After receiving an email confirmation that your items are ready, head to the library where you placed the hold to be sent to and pull into the designated Curbside Pickup spot. Once you have arrived, send us a text at 650-851-0147 or give us a call at 1-833-YES-SMCL (1-833-937-7625), and a friendly staff member will retrieve your holds and bring your items to you!
Curbside Pickup Hours:
Curbside Pickup is available during a library's open hours. Library hours at most locations are:
- Monday - Thursday 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM
- Friday - Sunday 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pacifica Sanchez Hours and Library Outpost:
The new Library Outpost at Pacifica Sanchez Library is also now open 24/7! In addition to being able to use Curbside Pickup at Pacifica Sanchez Library during its open hours, you can choose to pick up holds from the Library Outpost.
- Pacifica Sanchez Library: Tuesday and Wednesday 12:00 – 5:00 PM and Saturday 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Library Outpost: This library lending machine is open 24/7. When placing a hold, simply choose to pick up at “Pacifica Sanchez Outpost” to be able to collect your items.
How to Use Curbside Pickup:
- Place your holds at the library you would like to pick up from.
- After receiving your email confirmation that your items on hold are ready, head to the library where you placed the holds to be sent to and pull into the designated Curbside Pickup.
- Call or text Customer Care. Our library staff will come out to you with your holds as quickly as possible—please keep in mind this may take a few minutes when our libraries are busy!

The Brisbane Library’s Curbside Pickup designated parking spot is located on the north side of Monterey St, alongside the Community Room patio. *Please note this is not located on Visitacion Ave, where the main entrance to the library is located.
