Did you know that November 17 is Take a Hike Day? Take a Hike Day is a great day to remind everyone to spend some time outdoors. There can be many benefits to hiking such as potentially reducing the likelihood of heart disease, reducing anxiety, lessening stress and lowering blood pressure.
Half Moon Bay Library currently has blood pressure cuffs for checkout!
Our libraries also have items available on a first come, first served basis to help you get out hiking:
- County Parks Packs with San Mateo County Parks Passes and Explore Our Parks Packs with California State Parks Passes available to check out at any of our 13 locations. These can be checked out for three weeks of adventure
- Library Explorers Packs for kids that include a magnifying glass, binoculars, a Backpack Explorers Nature Guide and more
- Hiking poles that are adjustable and lightweight, designed to give you more stability on rough terrain
