April 3 is Library Giving Day, opens a new window! Founded by the Seattle Public Library Foundation, Library Giving Day is a one-day fundraising event that encourages people to donate to their local library.
Library Giving Day reminds us that public libraries are critical spaces. In addition to having books, libraries offer exciting programs that promote lifelong learning and connect people to technology.
San Mateo County Libraries is thrilled to provide a wide range of collection items, programs and services to our communities. However, many of these resources would not exist without the support of the Foundation for San Mateo County Libraries and Friends of the Library groups.
About the Foundation for San Mateo County Libraries
The Foundation for San Mateo County Libraries subsidizes the innovative programming and services that allow for equitable access to our 11 communities. Funding priorities include youth and family services, community engagement and lifelong learning.
Since 2019, our Foundation has donated $316,000 to programs and projects such as the Makermobile, Big Lift Inspiring Summers, Raising a Reader and Brisbane Library's new children's area.
