Pacifica Library Assistant, Chris Vance, is the recipient of KPIX's Jefferson Award for Public Service., opens a new window He has been recognized for his work with the Sanchez Library Garden, and his relationship with the Pacifica Resource Center, opens a new window. The produce from the Sanchez Library Garden is donated to the Resource Center and distributed to their clientele. An annual yield from the garden is roughly 800 pounds of vegetables!
The Jefferson Award Selection Committee's, opens a new window guiding principles are degree of community impact, inspiration, sustainability of effort, innovation, and fulfilling a community need. Chris has met those standards and more.
