Are you a middle grade (3rd to 8th grade) student who needs Spanish books to read? I’ve got a solution for you! My name is Cassandra and I am 13 years old. I am currently an 8th grader, but I have been in a Spanish Immersion program, and a Girl Scout, since kindergarten. What does all this have to do with reading, you might ask? Well, for my Girl Scout Silver Award* I decided to help students like me find Spanish language books more easily. To do that, I categorized the Spanish books in the library system into various lists. I organized them into genres, and then into approximate reading level: either 3rd - 5th grade, or 6th - 8th grade. I hope other students will use my lists to help them find Spanish books they will enjoy, and will be at their level. To see my book lists go to smcl.org/espanol, or check out the video below to see how to use my book lists!

        * In Girl Scouts there are three major awards scouts can earn: the Bronze, Silver and Gold awards. The Gold Award is equivalent to the Eagle Scout award earned by Boy Scouts. Each award is earned for leading a large-scale service project which improves an issue in the community. The scope of each project requires more service hours as we girls get older and our leadership skills improve. For Silver and Gold Awards, the projects must have long-term and sustainable impacts on the community. Girl Scouts can earn the Bronze Award in elementary school, the Silver Award in middle school, and the Gold Award in high school.

Una Nueva Herramienta Para Encontrar Libros en Español

        Blogger Adolescente Invitado: Cassandra
