Games for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are now available to check out. If you don’t have a Nintendo Switch console at home, no worries! Stop by your nearby San Mateo County Libraries location to take a Nintendo Switch Lite home with you. Whether you’re a casual or expert gamer, we invite everyone of all ages to come and get your game on!

Similar to our other items in our Library of Things collection, games and consoles will not be reservable at this time.

Similar to our other items in our Library of Things collection, games, and consoles are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Who can check out video games and consoles?

Can a child under 18 years old borrow video games and consoles?
Yes, a patron with a juvenile card can borrow video games and consoles.
Can I renew the games and consoles?
Games and consoles are currently not renewable.
Can I submit a game purchase suggestion?

Where do I return the games and consoles?
Please return the consoles to the library’s front desk. Please return the games to either the front desk or the return machines.
What happens to my game save and data from the Nintendo Switch Lite consoles?
The Nintendo Switch Lite will be factory reset upon return to the service desk.
