If your shelves are overflowing and you're looking for a new home for the books you no longer need, please consider donating them to one of our local Friends of the Library groups!
Many of our San Mateo County Libraries locations have their own Friends of the Library organization. These groups are run by local volunteers who sell gently used books and other media, both in the library and at special book sales a few times a year. These book sales are also a wonderful place to purchase books while supporting your local library, since the proceeds from these book sales are used to fund library programs, supplies and other needs. All donations to a Friends of the Library group are tax-deductible, and you can ask for a receipt for your taxes.

Before making a donation, please check with your local Friends of the Library group to coordinate a drop-off and learn more about their donation guidelines.
