It’s October! Halloween is almost upon us.

Ah, yes that wonderful spooky holiday where we dress up in costumes, eat copious amounts of candy, and partake in the scariest of entertainment.

Can’t decide what scary stuff to watch/read? Don’t worry. The Library has you covered. We've got scary books, and movies galore! Lots of libraries are also hosting Halloween themed events!

  • Belmont Library: Teen Murder Mystery Night
    When: Friday, October 21 at 7pm
    Where: Belmont Library Taube Room
    What: Get your Holmes & Watson on and help us solve a Murder Mystery at the Belmont Library! Refreshments will be served. Grades 6-12.
  • Belmont Library: Halloween Classic Movie Afternoon: Psycho
    When: Monday, October 24 from 3:30-5pm
    Where: Belmont Library Taube Room
    What: Join us for a Halloween Classic Movie Afternoon with Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho. Popcorn will be served. Grades 6-12.
  • Belmont Library: Techy Tuesday: 3D Printed Jack O’Lanterns
    When: Tuesday, Oct 25 from 3:30-5pm
    Where: Belmont Library Teen Center
    What: Teens & Tweens learn how to design your own 3D Jack O'Lanterns using Tinkercad. Jack O'Lanterns will be printed by library staff and returned to students. Grades 6-12.
  • Belmont Library: Teen Halloween Party
    When: Wednesday, October 26 from 3:30-5pm
    Where: Belmont Library Taube Room
    What: Join us for our annual Halloween Party where there will be cupcake decorating, a makeup contest, music, scary movies and most importantly CANDY! Grades 6-12
  • Brisbane Library: Teen Halloween Party
    When: Saturday, October 22 from 6:00-8:00 PM
    What: There will be food, drinks from Boba Guys, games, music, a photo booth, and a costume contest.
  • Foster City Library: Fall Break Camp

    What: Consisting of Tween Craft Camp, Diwali Craft, and an Upcycle Craft.

    What: Bring your old dolls and toys from home or use our supplies to sew, glue, tape, staple, or otherwise create a ghoulish, freaky, or fun Frankenstein's Monster-like toy.
  • San Carlos Library: Halloween Movie

    What: Join us for a scary Halloween movie at the library! Special prizes are given to whoever's all dressed up. Snacks will be provided.
  • Woodside Library: Halloween Perler Beads
    When: Monday, October 31 at 3:30 PM
    What: Use fusible beads to create shapes, characters, jewelry, or anything you can imagine. Grab a pattern for inspiration or come up with something all-new. Special Halloween theme! All materials will be provided. Space is limited.
