Our San Mateo County Libaries children's librarians love to read picture books, especially during our weekly storytimes. Two elements that make for a great storytime book are clear, eye-catching illustrations, and a story or text that is easy for kids to follow and relate to. We also love books that give kids a chance to participate by joining on repeated words or phrases and books with characters that reflect our communities' diverse backgrounds and experiences.
