San Mateo County Libraries and our partners - the City of Half Moon Bay and San Mateo County - are pleased to announce that after years of hard work and thoughtful effort, ground has been broken for the new Half Moon Bay Library!
On Friday, July 29, 2016, city and county officials gathered together with a large crowd in attendance to celebrate the ceremonial first scoop of dirt as they marked the official start of site work on the new library.
"What are we doing?" called out Half Moon Bay Mayor Rick Kowalczyk just after the ceremony, opens a new window. "Building a library!" responded the enthusiastic crowd. It was an exciting and monumental moment for all involved to see this project finally become a reality. THANK YOU to everyone who is involved in the project and attended the groundbreaking ceremony.
