Do you have broken household items? Do not throw them away, learn how to fix them. The North Fair Oaks Library, in collaboration with the San Mateo County Office of Sustainability, opens a new window, will be hosting a Fixit Clinic on Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
The Fixit Clinic is an exciting, hands-on, community-based workshop where community members and volunteers work collaboratively to repair broken items. Bring in your broken or non-functioning items, such as appliances, computers, bicycles, electronics, toys, and gadgets, then learn how to fix them. The Office of Sustainability will supply tools and materials to assist in troubleshooting and repairing your broken items. You will be assisted by Fixit Coaches, who volunteer their time and share their knowledge to troubleshoot and guide you in repairing your item.
Regardless of whether you fix your item or not, you will learn abundant information and gain insight into how your item was assembled and how it originally operated. By completing this workshop, you will gain skills to assist others in the community and hopefully be inspired to become a Fixit Coach. This event is open to all!

La Clínica Fixit es un emocionante taller práctico comunitario en el que miembros de la comunidad y voluntarios colaboran para reparar objetos rotos. Trae tus objetos rotos o que no funcionen, como aparatos electrodomésticos, computadoras, bicicletas y juguetes, y aprende a arreglarlos. La Oficina de Sostenibilidad proporcionará herramientas y materiales para ayudarte a solucionar tus problemas y reparar los objetos rotos. Los instructores de Fixitt ofrecerán voluntariamente su tiempo y compartirán sus conocimientos para solucionar problemas y guiarlo en la reparación de su artículo.
Independientemente de si reparas tu artículo o no, aprenderás una gran cantidad de información y tendrás una idea de cómo se ensambló tu artículo y cómo funcionaba originalmente. Al completar este taller, tendras adquirirá habilidades para ayudar a otros en la comunidad. Esperamos que te inspires para ser un instructor de Fixit. ¡Este evento es para todos!
