About the Position
San Mateo County Libraries is seeking enthusiastic and motivated high school students for our Youth Learning and Outreach Internship, opens a new window.
- Internships begin in June and last up to 12 weeks.
- The hourly pay rate for this position is $21.08 for up to 20 hours per week. Shifts are flexible, non-regular and may vary from Monday through Sunday.
- Interns will be assigned to a community library and will work under the mentorship of library staff.
We also have opportunities for bilingual students who speak Spanish, Mandarin/Cantonese or Tagalog. These interns will actively engage in activities with youth and assist with outreach initiatives within our libraries and greater San Mateo County.
What You Can Do for Your Community
Studies show that many young students experience "summer learning loss" as their reading skills falter during summer break. That's where our Youth Outreach and Learning interns come in!
Library interns will help facilitate hands on learning experiences for children, teens and families throughout our summer programming to combat summer learning loss. Qualified candidates will be interested in learning, able to encourage others and be excited to connect our community to everything our libraries have to offer.
