Bike to Your Library Weekend 2023

Pump up your tires, grab a snack and ride out to your nearest San Mateo County Libraries location during our annual Bike to Your Library Weekend celebration during the month of May.

This year we have teamed up with local partners to provide fun and educational experiences for everyone! We will also have a limited supply of free bicycle lights provided for those attending our Bike to Your Library events.

Let's dive into what we have planned for the month of May!

Bicycle Safety Inspection Clinic

San Mateo County Libraries has partnered with, a mobile bicycle maintenance team, to offer free bicycle safety inspections at 12 of our library locations. Registered attendees will check in during the event to have their bicycles inspected. During the inspection, Velofix’s bicycle technician will inspect the bicycle and provide the following:

  • Air up all bike tires
  • Lubricate bike chains
  • Tighten the bicycle bolts and bike seat post
  • Alert owners of any issues that need repair
  • Provide service/repair recommendations only
  • Note: there will not be replacement parts installed during the bicycle safety inspection

Registration is needed to attend this event, space is limited. We expect each bicycle inspection to last about 15 minutes.
