What do carnival rides, livestock, fried Twinkies, and of course the San Mateo County Libraries have in common? They’re all things you’ll find at the San Mateo County Fair, opens a new window! The Bookmobile will be stationed at the fair all week long with fun activities and crafts for the whole family. Visit the SMCL booth just inside the Expo Hall and join in on making some pipe cleaner jewelry or get signed up for the Summer Learning Program, opens a new window. Kids can let their creativity run wild at the Imagination Playground and help turn the giant blue blocks in to castles, giant ramps, and more.
If you’ve never been inside the Bookmobile you’re missing out. Step in to the big blue bus to enjoy a book and a comfy bean bag chair in this fully loaded library on wheels. We've also got Doblet chargers if your cell phone battery is running low. For those with adventurous tastes, come and catch Nature Connect’s presentation on Bugs as Food, Wednesday, June 15th from 1:00-2:00 PM. This program, and everything else mentioned here, is totally free with your paid admission to the fair. We hope to see you there!
The San Mateo County Fair is open from June 11 to June 17, 2016 and is located at 1346 Saratoga Dr. San Mateo, CA, opens a new window. Just look for the giant Ferris wheel and follow the smell of funnel cake.
