We’re Collaborating With the Laufey Book Club

Written by Ella D., Library Communications

We're excited to share that San Mateo County Libraries is partnering with Laufey, the two-time GRAMMY Award-winning artist, New York Times bestselling author and founder of the global Laufey Book Club, to launch a special limited-edition library card in celebration of A Very Laufey Day and Library Card Sign-Up Month.

Beginning Sunday, August 23, limited-edition Laufey library cards will be available at all 13 San Mateo County Libraries locations. Whether you’re an existing cardholder looking to trade in your current card or getting your very first library card, you can pick up a Laufey card on a first come, first served basis, while supplies last.

Sharing Library Love With the Laufey Book Club

Musician and author Laufey founded the Laufey Book Club to inspire community, creativity and connection through reading and books. By collaborating with local libraries, the Laufey Book Club library card launch aims to encourage more people to visit their local library, create connections in their community and discover new books and services.

This partnership also solidifies Laufey's role as the 2025 Honorary Chair for Library Card Sign-Up Month, an American Library Association initiative celebrating the power of libraries to support their communities.
