Summer Learning Challenge Instagram Giveaway – August Summer Experience

The Summer Learning Challenge is all about making the most of your summer break. Maybe you read a new book that changed your perspective on life. Maybe you learned how to play a ukulele, how to screenprint, or how to cook. Or maybe your summer took you to distant cities or countries where you explored new terrain and exciting cultures. Whatever adventures you took -- whether it was in a book or in a new city -- mark it off in your Summer Learning Challenge log and tell us about it!

Share with us your favorite summer experience on Instagram and you can win SMCL branded swag plus a customized item made from our Glowforge laser cutter! It's easy to enter and win:

  1. If you're not already following us, follow @smclibraries now! Only followers will be eligible to win a prize.
  2. If your profile is public, post photos or videos of yourself or with friends and family showing us your Summer Learning Challenge adventure. Tag @smclibraries in the photo. If your profile is private, "Like" the announcement post and tell us about your favorite experience in the comments! Your comment is your entry into the giveaway.
  3. Your photo must include the hashtag #SMCLSummerExperience to be entered in the giveaway.

Complete Rules

Photos must be posted and tagged by 11:59 PM on Saturday, September 1st, 2018 to be eligible for entry. No purchase necessary. To enter our giveaway, you must follow @smclibraries's Instagram account and post an original photo or video with the hashtag #SMCLSummerExperience on Instagram. If your profile is private, "Like" the announcement post and leave us a comment! In your photo/video or comment, share your story of what you read, learned, enjoyed, or experienced.

Participants may enter multiple original photos and there is no limit on the number of entries per participant.

The giveaway is open to San Mateo County residents 13 years old and up, excluding SMCL employees and their immediate families. Winners under 18 years of age must have parental consent to claim their prize. No substitutions or exchanges are permitted. Inappropriate or offensive images and/or comments will be disqualified, reported and/or removed.

SMCL will have a random drawing on September 2nd. Four winners will be chosen. Winners will receive prize notification the morning of September 3rd via social media and must claim their prize at a San Mateo County Libraries location of their choice as directed through prize notification. Winners will receive an SMCL swag bag containing: 1 SMCL drawstring tote, 1 $25 gift card to Amazon.com, 1 branded notebook, 1 mood pencil, 1 stylus pen (for a touch screen device), 3 coloring bookmarks, 1 set of mini colored pencils, 2 pins, 2 stickers, and 1 customized item made from our Glowforge laser cutter. (Winners will be able to choose from a selection of items then customize it with an engraved name or image. Details will be given with prize notification.)

If winning entrants of any prize cannot be contacted, fails to claim the prize, or is ineligible, he/she will forfeit that prize and the prize will be awarded to the next winner. Limit one prize per winner.

Subject to your profile and privacy settings, once you have shared content by posting it to the public, SMCL may re-share your content on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter and our smcl.org blog. SMCL will recognize the original author of the content. SMCL will repost content shared as part of this giveaway for advertising and promotional purposes without compensation.
