On Tuesday, May 12, at 6:00 PM, we're thrilled to welcome Bay Area author Shoshana von Blanckensee to the Foster City Library!
Shoshana will join us for a conversation about her acclaimed novel, Girls Girls Girls.

Saul Goodman’s Klezmer Band 

Celebrate Jewish American Heritage Month with Saul Goodman’s Klezmer Band! The band will present a variety of klezmer instrumental music and Yiddish songs, along with explanations about the music, its origins and functions. 

Jewish Papercutting Workshop 

We're welcoming local Judaic artist, writer, teacher and chef Lisa Rauchwerger for a hands-on papercutting workshop. Participants will learn a brief history of Jewish papercuts, the basics of how to create one and try their hand at a variety of designs.

The Joy of Jewish Music & Dance 

This is a fully participatory, moving cultural experience for all ages! The Joy of Jewish Music & Dance explores a wide range of Jewish music and dance styles—including older North African communities such as Yemenite and Ethiopian, Sephardic (the Jews of old Spain), Yiddish traditions of Eastern Europe and the golden gems of classic Israeli folk dance—all through movement, music and storytelling.  

Sefardi Herbalism

In this two-session course, Naomi Spector will teach about the earth, water and plant-based Sefardi folk traditions explored in her book, Sefardi Herbalism

My Grandmother’s Magic Recipe Book 

This charming puppet show brings Jewish traditions to life through a magical cookbook filled with stories, songs and cultural discoveries.
