Great news, Portola Valley Library is expanding its hours! Beginning Tuesday, July 5, Portola Valley Library will extend its evening hours and offer 7-day-a-week service.
Increased hours give you more chances to stop by the library, where there is so much to explore.
“We wanted to make this happen for our community members and it couldn’t come at a better time,” said Portola Valley Mayor Craig Hughes. “Portola Valley Library is well-loved year-round, and in summer it becomes an everyday destination. Families wanting to keep their kids reading over the break, teens preparing college applications and anyone who wants a cool, quiet place to read or reach other services can seek out the library any day of the week now.”
Portola Valley Library Hours, Effective Tuesday, July 5
- Monday-Thursday 10:00 AM-8:00 PM
- Friday-Sunday 10:00 AM-5:00 PM
Take advantage of our expanded hours! We’re here to serve you with books to borrow, in-person programming, access to tech and more:
- Storytimes
- 3D printer
- More books in more languages
- Quiet spaces to read and research
- Laptops and WiFi hotspots to borrow
Portola Valley Library joins several other San Mateo County Libraries in its newly expanded hours. Most San Mateo County Libraries returned to 7-day-a-week-service in December 2021, following reopening plan procedures and approval by the Governing Board. Our 13 libraries are run in partnership with the cities and towns they serve.
“We are looking forward to welcoming patrons to the Portola Valley Library every day of the week,” San Mateo County Libraries Director Anne-Marie Despain said. “More open hours mean more opportunities to discover the library. We hope this makes it even easier to visit the library and encourages more community members to sign up for a free library card, attend an exciting program and use our services and resources.”
