National Poetry Month: Celebrate at the Library

Celebrate National Poetry Month at San Mateo County Libraries throughout April. Initially started by the Academy of American Poets in 1996, opens a new window, it “reminds the public that poets have an integral role to play in our culture and that poetry matters.”

Poetry is a favored artistic form to many.
The imagination sores whenever poems are read.
Every letter, word, character and punctuation,
written or not written,
holding the weight of deeper meaning
--or sometimes they hold no meaning at all,
which within itself,
holds meaning beyond words.
