Have you ever wanted to learn a new hobby but didn’t know where to start? For some, attending a craft class when you know next to nothing about a hobby can be a daunting prospect. If you try looking for crafting videos online, you can get lost in a myriad of poorly done videos or a sea of advertising. What if you could learn a new craft from the comfort of your own home, but you didn’t have to worry about finding quality content or being encouraged to empty your bank?
San Mateo County Libraries is excited to offer a solution to your problems. Our Creativebug platform offers access to 5000+ online classes on different artistic and crafting endeavors like drawing, painting, sewing, baking, canning and preserving, and everything in between. The classes are taught by experts in their respective art forms, and the videos are well-edited and easy to follow along.
Key Features
Most lessons are accompanied by downloadable instructions, supply lists, or patterns. While watching a class video, you can enter private notes to flag important points in the video you may wish to go back and review. This notes feature is only available by creating a login. Additionally, you can view the public comments from other users. There is even a way to contact the class instructors or their assistants.
Your Ticket for Exploration
When you are looking for activities to keep your little ones busy, there is a collection of crafting videos made especially for kids covering projects like creating galaxy slime to making felt puppet avatars—the only thing you need to access this awesome resource is your San Mateo County Libraries’ card!
