Don’t Miss YANovCon 2020!

We are beyond excited for our 5th Annual Young Adult Novelist Convention (#YANovCon) coming up on Saturday, January 25th from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM at the Millbrae Library. If you've attended YANovCon previously, you know what a fantastic group of authors come out for this annual event. This year is no exception!

Lineup of Authors

We've partnered with Books Inc.opens a new window for you to buy books at the event from these terrific authors and support their work. You can also check out books by the YANovCon authors from our collection and eBooks/eAudiobooksopens a new window from our service, Digital Book Library by OverDrive.

Not only will you get to connect with your favorite authors about their writing and publishing process, but we are also working with local organizations to provide on-site resources for teens who experience teen anxiety, especially as it relates to social media and academic pressures because #anxietyisreal.

We will also have activities at some of our branches to inspire you through rough times. During the Building Resilience with Anxiety Bracelets and Positive Postcards program, you can make an anxiety bracelet for yourself or as a gift to help provide focus and support when experiencing anxiety or create and send a postcard with a positive message to a friend or yourself. Simple acts of kindness remind us that we are supported, we are strong and can overcome any obstacle For Anxiety on the Brain, you will create a spray-painted silhouette of your head, fill it in with your thoughts, and decorate with spray-paint. Change someone's day with your words and actions.
