Summer wouldn’t be complete without the San Mateo County Fair, opens a new window! Each year, it’s a highlight of the season, and San Mateo County Libraries is excited to continue our annual fair tradition of bringing stories, creativity and hands-on fun to the community and the San Mateo County Fair.
Join us for an interactive library experience filled with free books, maker activities, cozy reading spaces and fun for all ages. Find us indoors in the West Lobby of Fiesta Hall at the San Mateo County Event Center:

Whether you’re stopping by to cool off, discover your next favorite read, create something new or learn more about library services in your community, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Our friendly library staff will be on hand throughout the fair to:
- Share information about library programs and services
- Help visitors learn about and start their Summer Adventure
- Answer questions about library cards, ebooks and digital resources
- Highlight upcoming events happening across San Mateo County Libraries
Discovery Awaits at the County Fair
Whether you’re a lifelong library fan or visiting for the very first time, there’s something waiting for you.
- Relax in the Reading Garden and take a break from the fair excitement in a cozy, colorful space designed for readers and families of all ages.
- Free book giveaways for children, teens and adults while supplies last.
- Hands-on Maker activities invite you to build, design and experiment, with options for makers of all ages.
