2020 Peninsula Libraries Comic Arts Fest

The Peninsula Libraries Comic Arts Fest is coming soon in March 2020! All month long, we’re celebrating the importance of comics, both as an art form and as valid literature, and enabling aspiring artists and readers of all ages through author visits, workshops, and comics-related programs.

We’ll be having events at all libraries throughout San Mateo County: Burlingame Library, opens a new window, Daly City Library, opens a new window, Menlo Park Library, opens a new window, Redwood City Library, opens a new window, San Bruno Library, opens a new window, San Mateo County Libraries, San Mateo Public Library, opens a new window, and South San Francisco Library, opens a new window.

Our kickoff event, the Small Press Comics Expo, will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2020, from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Redwood City Downtown Public Library, opens a new window. Support small press comics by buying work directly from the creators! For interested artists who would like to table at our Expo, please fill out an application, opens a new window. The deadline for submissions is December 31, 2019! Confirmations will be sent in January 2020.

Dana Simpson

Wednesday, March 4, 6:00 PM • Daly City Library, John Daly Branch, opens a new window

Award-winning cartoonist and writer and illustrator of the Phoebe and Her Unicorn series, Dana Simpson, opens a new window, will be at the John Daly Library to talk about her books and teach aspiring young artists some of the basics of comics creation.
