Family Fun for Everyone

San Mateo County Libraries has a week of fun activities waiting for you at the San Mateo County Fair, opens a new window, June 9 -17, 2018.

You’ll find our area just inside the Expo Hall. Once there, visit the Bookmobile which will be stationed at the Fair all week long, with fun activities and crafts for the whole family.

If you’ve never been inside the Bookmobile don't miss out! Step in to the big blue bus for Summer Learning signups, hands on learning, interactive activities, craft kits, free giveaways, prizes and special programming.

Everyone is invited to learn fresh hip hop choreography alongside the Alphabet Rockers!

Come experience the latest technology the library offers!

Tuesday, June 12, 2:00 & 5:00 PM - Insect Lab
Explore the fantastic lives of beetles, millipedes, tarantulas, walking sticks, whip scorpions and more! Picking out bones and trying to assemble a rodent skeleton.

Wednesday, June 13, 2:00 & 5:00 PM - Anthem Screen Printing, opens a new window
Learn with us the very basics of screen printing with a demo by Anthem Screen Printing!

Thursday, June 14, 2:00 & 5:00 PM - Peopleologie, opens a new window
Learn about some of the oldest toys known and made around the world, using the simplest of materials like string, leaves, and paper. Watch how easily you can knit using your hands, concentration, some dexterity, and a bit of yarn.

Friday, June 15, 2:00 & 5:00 PM - Circus of Smiles, opens a new window
Plan, measure, cut, test and redesign with recycled materials and build circus props to take home with you. Run away with the circus to try juggling, clowning, theater games, and more!

Saturday, June 16, 2:00 & 5:00 PM - Art of Henna
Learn about the history and practices of henna art! Leah, a local henna artist will provide henna designs using her homemade paste.

Sunday, June 17, 5:00 PM - Village Rhythms, opens a new window, African Drumming With Onye Onyemaechi
Through his talent and energy, Onye Onyemaechi brings the excitement and soul of African culture and village values to his audience.

Saturday - Sunday, all day - Imagination Playground
Kids and parents will love the Imagination Playground, where imagination is all they need to turn big blue blocks in to fairytale castles, space robots, or pirate ships.

The San Mateo County Fair is open from June 9 to June 17, 2018 and is located at the San Mateo County Event Center, opens a new window. Just look for the giant Ferris wheel and follow the smell of funnel cake.
