Half Moon Bay Writing Club at Half Moon Bay Library
Grab your notepad and head over to the Half Moon Bay Writing Club to commune with fellow creatives! Here, no prompts are offered or feedback given—just a peaceful hour to work on your projects parallel to your peers. Meet your new writing community on Tuesdays from 6:00-8:00 PM at Half Moon Bay Library.
Creative Writing Drop-In at Pacifica Sharp Park Library
Looking for a group that has more guidance and structure? Pacifica Sharp Park Library’s Creative Writing Drop-In sessions provide space for writers of all levels to practice their skills with prompted exercises and learn valuable feedback from peers. Join this intentional and reflective group on the first and third Thursdays of the month from 3:00-5:00 PM at Pacifica Sharp Park Library.
Creative Writer's Workshop at Foster City Library
Bring your works in progress and unique voice to our limited series of Creative Writer's Workshops! Expand your creative toolkit with the support of a writing teacher and community. This Foster City event will be accepting drop-ins as capacity allows for the remainder of the series, which occurs weekly on Wednesdays until April 15!
Indie Author Project
The Indie Author Project utilizes the eBook resource Biblioboard to help local independent authors share their works within the Indie California Collection of Biblioboard. If one of these works becomes popular, it becomes showcased in their Indie Author Project Select Collection! Reach new audiences and support local authors with the Indie Author Project.
Belmont Poetry Contest
San Mateo County Libraries is pleased to celebrate local poetry with our Annual Belmont Poetry Contest, opens a new window! Poets of all ages that reside in San Mateo County are welcome to submit an original work of no longer than 20 lines to our online form from March 1-31. Winners will be notified on April 13, and will be invited to read their work at our Poetry Celebration on April 30 hosted by Belmont Poet Laureate, Greg McCulloh. Please keep an eye out for further details surrounding this upcoming event, and we wish all participants the best of luck in their writing.
