Are you ready for the holidays? It's National Cookie Day, and a perfect holiday gift is a delicious batch of homemade cookies.
National Cookie Day was created in 1987 by Matt Nader of the San Francisco-based Blue Chip Cookie Company, opens a new window, who said:
“It’s just like having National Secretaries Day… It will just be a fun thing to do.”
The word “cookie” originally comes from the Dutch word “koekie” meaning “little cake.” Cookies are great because they come in all shapes, sizes, and flavors.
