A Celebration of Black Excellence: Drum Making Workshop
Oakland based Hip Hop artist Jahi, from Microphone Mechanics, will present contributions African Americans and Africans have made on the world through various known and unknown inventions. Drum making and rhythmic expression will accompany this session with a focus on building legacy. Jahi has over 20 years in Hip Hop education, and believes that music, history and community brings people together.
Join us for a teen and adult drum making workshop. Participants will learn basic rhythms and make their own drum that they then can take home.
