We're excited to announce the start of construction on our Millbrae Library Makerspace! Construction will begin Tuesday, September 5 and take place Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Our computer lab will be closed for renovations until the end of the year due to ongoing construction.
Outside the computer lab, the rest of the library will remain open regular hours during construction.
The computer lab doors will be closed to reduce the sound and dust from the construction site. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. While some programming will continue in temporary spaces, we look forward to introducing you to a robust programming schedule in your new Makerspace in the New Year!
The new Makerspace, which is a partnership with the City of Millbrae, is a community-driven space that offers opportunities to explore the following:
- Arts and Crafts: Sewing, jewelry making, and drawing
- Robotics: Coding and circuitry
- Fabrication: 3D printing, laser cutting
- Innovation: Virtual Reality, photography, music, and design
