Library of Things: For the Fun Lovers

Are you in the mood for fun? We have everything you need for a day out, a family game night or to liven up a party with music.  

Discover & Go Passes

Did you know that your library card will get you free access to numerous Bay Area museums and cultural institutions, including the California Academy of Sciences and the Asian Art Museum? If you're at least 14 years old and live within our service area as defined by zip code, you can reserve free passes that you can print out at home or at the library.  

Every Discover & Go pass expires immediately after the reservation date, so there's no need to return anything! Some attractions have limited numbers of passes, so check back often to see what’s available. Learn more about Discover & Go and our Museum Passes.

Board Games & Puzzles

Whether you want to host a loud game night with family or friends, or prefer to challenge yourself with a jigsaw puzzle, we have a variety of board games, card games and puzzles for all ages and difficulty levels. They can be checked out for three weeks, and will be renewed automatically if no one is waiting, just like books. All our games and puzzles are now holdable—visit our catalog to see what’s available! 

Karaoke Machines

Turn any occasion into a party with one of our karaoke machines! As a part of our In Luck collection, they are available to check out for one week on a first come, first served basis. Our karaoke machines can be used in multiple ways, either with CDs or by streaming via Bluetooth using Spotify, Apple Music or your preferred music platform. We also have lots of karaoke music available for free with Hoopla! Each machine also comes with built-in disco lights and two rechargeable microphones.

Discover Skills Backpacks

These all-in-one themed kits for children contain books, toys and games for children and caregivers to use together to learn and practice specific life skills and concepts. The Feelings Kit is best for children aged 0-5 and can be used to learn about managing emotions. The Making Friends Kit is best for children aged 6-10 and helps them learn about social skills and making friends. These kits come in wheeled backpacks and are easy to take with you! They are part of our In Luck collection and are available to check out on a first come, first served basis.
