Hidden Figures

Recently released, this film depicts the historic contributions made by three extraordinary African-American women working behind the scenes of the NASA space flight programs. Known as computers, Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson calculated by hand the mathematical equations that ensured the success of Alan Shepard's, John Glenn's and Neil Armstrong's space missions.

The movie is based on Margot Lee Shetterly's biography, Hidden Figures: The American Dream and the Untold Story of the Black Women Mathematicians Who Helped Win the Space Race.  It is available in various formats in your library: eBook, audiobook CD, and downloadable audiobook as well as a book for young readersDVD is coming soon!
