It’s summer, which means the kids are out of school and free to wander and have their own adventures — sometimes spooky adventures!

All of these stories find their origins in the stories of Nancy Drew, the Hardy Boys and Scooby-Doo. Whether they are solo kid reporters, groups of investigators or just kids in the wrong place at the wrong time, there's a mystery waiting for them to solve.

When kids venture out on their own, adults can become valued allies and mentors, or unexpected villains. If you happen to know a meddling kid (dog optional), then they might enjoy these books — some of which are long running series to help keep them occupied all summer.
