Important Dates for the November 2024 Presidential General Election

October

7

 Ballots are mailed to registered voters in the state of California. Vote early at a Vote Center, opens a new window, by mail, opens a new window or at an available ballot drop box, opens a new window.

October

21

Deadline to register to vote, opens a new window in California online or postmark date for mail registration. In-person registration may occur at Vote Centers, opens a new window through Election Day.

November

5

On Election Day, all 45 San Mateo County Vote Centers, opens a new window will be open from 7 AM - 8 PM. Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked on or before the Presidential General Election.

Ways to Vote

Secure Ballot Drop Boxes are located in or outside our libraries in Belmont, opens a new window, Brisbane, opens a new window, East Palo Alto, Half Moon Bay, opens a new window, North Fair Oaks, opens a new window, San Carlos, opens a new window, and Woodside, opens a new window.

Starting Saturday, October 26, in-person voting centers will be available at our library in San Carlos, and starting Saturday, November 2, at our libraries in Belmont and Half Moon Bay.
