Meet Rupa Marya, Author of Inflamed: Deep Medicine and the Anatomy of Injustice
As part of our ongoing Author Talks, we're excited to welcome Bay Area-based author Dr. Rupa Marya to the Portola Valley Library on Saturday, March 8, at 12:00 PM. She will discuss her book, Inflamed, which takes us on a medical tour through the human body.
Unlike a traditional anatomy book, this groundbreaking work illuminates the hidden relationships between our biological systems and the profound injustices of our political and economic systems.
Dr. Rupa Marya is a physician, activist, mother and composer. A professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, she practices and teaches internal medicine. Join us with your questions as Rupa discusses the inflammation of our bodies, societies and planets, as well as the writing process.
Free giveaway copies of Inflamed will be available at all San Mateo County Libraries locations on a first-come, first-served basis.
