United Against Hate Week, opens a new window, September 21- 27, is a time for communities to come together, show support for one another and stand united against hate.
Local Bay Area civic leaders started United Against Hate Week as a local effort to address rising hate crimes. It has grown into a movement throughout California and in communities across the U.S. to promote inclusivity, respect and action toward justice.
At San Mateo County Libraries, our mission is to strengthen our community by creating an inclusive sense of place and environment for learning. We’ll be supporting the County of San Mateo, opens a new window during United Against Hate Week to help us all connect and work toward a more inclusive future.
In unity with libraries, schools and community groups nationwide, San Mateo County will host events to bring people together, spark conversations and build understanding. The County of San Mateo Board of Supervisors will recognize United Against Hate Week and community members will gather to take a stand against hate through a Unity Walk, opens a new window.
Our libraries are open to everyone, and we invite you to join us and the County as we work together to create a stronger, more compassionate community.
