Guardians of the Galaxy 2

The new Guardians of the Galaxy 2 trailer hit the internet a few weeks ago. And we are so ready for the sequel!

Are you ready for a little Guardians of the Galaxy history? The original superhero team that called itself the Guardians of the Galaxy first appeared way back in 1969 with a completely different cast of characters.

The team we know and love came together in their own comic series in 2008, followed by the 2014 film.

Fun fact: there are a few key differences between the comic book version of the Guardians of the Galaxy and their movie counterparts. For example, in the comics Peter Quill a.k.a Star-Lord (played by Chris Pratt) is the son of a human woman named Meredith Quill and an alien emperor named J’son.

But this fun fact won’t help you figure out Star-Lord’s movie backstory. Director James Gunn decided to change the identity of Peter’s father. Instead of an intergalactic Emperor he will be an ancient interstellar entity known as Ego the living planet (played by Kurt Russell.)

The library has Guardians of the Galaxy comics and more to keep you entertained before Guardians of the Galaxy 2 hits theaters this May.

This is the start of a new story arc for the Guardians of the Galaxy. Peter is the new Emperor of Spartax while Rocket Raccoon becomes the new team leader. What could possibly go wrong?

Guardians of the Galaxy/all-new X-Men
The Guardians of the Galaxy live in the Marvel comics universe. That means they occasionally crossover with the more earth-based Marvel heroes. This volume has the team work with the X-Men.
