How does Fable work?

Is Fable free?
Clubs are free to join, and users can create free clubs of their own. By signing up for Fable, opens a new window with your library card, you’ll have access to Fable’s premium book clubs, which are usually only available through a paid subscription. Titles for San Mateo County Libraries’ book club are free and will be automatically added to your account when you sign up.
