A Self-Care Guide for the Holidays

We've reached the most wonderful time of the year! While the end of the year brings in all my favorite holidays, there’s no denying that the stress of our everyday lives can peak during this season. One of the most important things that we often neglect is self-care.

While candles, pumpkin pie, and lattes can only bring me so much joy in the world, self-care also means treating myself with kindness, something I occasionally need a nudge with. Here are some tips I try to follow when caring for myself.

Stay Hydrated

Most of us know that we should drink approximately 8 glasses of water each day, opens a new window but how many of us do it? Carrying a reusable water bottle makes this easier, and I love to set it up as a challenge and goal for myself.

Find a Balance Between Connecting With Others and Allowing Yourself Time to Reflect

The holidays call for socializing and gathering with loved ones. Allowing yourself to maintain your connections with friends and family is a great way to manage your stress and fulfill emotional needs. Other times, we need alone time. One of my favorite ways to unplug is to stay in for the night and read.
