Meet Jaime Cortez, Author of Gordo: Stories

Hello! See what's happening at our libraries

We can't wait to welcome Jaime Cortez, the creative writer behind Gordo: Stories, for a virtual author talk on Thursday, November 16 at 6:30 PM. Cortez will discuss his semi-autobiographical tales of searching for belonging before taking questions from the audience.

Gordo: Stories explores the journey of the migrant farm worker camps of 1970s Watsonville, California. Infused with humor and everyday details that bring his narrative to life, Cortez’s interconnected stories encompass themes such as machismo pride, queer self-discovery and the challenges of immigration.
