Jeffery Deaver Author Reading and Cheese and Wine Reception
Award-winning mystery writer Jeffery Deaver will read from his most recently published novel, Roadside Crosses. His most popular series features his regular character Lincoln Rhyme, a quadriplegic detective, and Amelia Sachs. His book A Maiden's Grave was made into an HBO movie starring James Garner and Marlee Matlin, and his novel The Bone Collector was a feature release from Universal Pictures, starring Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie. This program is free and open to all.

San Mateo County Library presents Lawyers in the Library
A new monthly series beginning in August. Each month the library holds free legal clinics. Find out more and schedule a one-on-one twenty minute consultation with a volunteer lawyer at your local library. Each evening at each library has a scheduled focus--topics include family law, wills and trusts, guardianship, general topics, real estate, and more. Sign up at a participating library today!

July 1 - August 31, 2009 help provide new books to underserved children by supporting Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) at your local Macy’s store. For $3, you will receive $10 off* a $50 purchase at any Macy’s store. Macy’s will donate 100% of your $3 to RIF. $1 will support a local RIF program, $1 goes to RIF’s Multicultural Literacy Campaign, and $1 will support reading resources for children nationwide.

Community Fun Night
Friday, August 7 at 6:00 PM
Join us for an hour of fun with Wii and board games followed by a movie at 7:00 PM. Everyone is welcome! Gift card raffle will be drawn at the end of the movie. Refreshments will be served.
Summer Reading Carnival
Friday, August 14, 12:00 noon to 3:00 PM
All are welcome, and admission is free! Children who have participated in the summer reading program can collect their finisher prize bags and free books. There will be a bounce house, games, face painting, ice cream, and more. Mr. Horsefeathers will perform magic and juggling at 2:00 PM.
Summer Finale Movie Night: Twilight
Friday, August 14 at 7:00 PM
End the summer with Twilight (PG-13). Everyone is welcome to attend. A special Twilight tote bag will be raffled off to those who attend this movie night. Teens are encouraged to bring in their summer reading logs for a chance to win prizes.

Knitting Workshop
