San Carlos Library’s STEAM Fair

It's time for the San Carlos Library’s 4th Annual STEAM Fair, where the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math collide!

Are you ready to try the ball run challenge? Can you guide a Sphero robot down the fairway and make a hole in one? Maybe build a glider with Hiller Aviation Museum, opens a new window or try your hand at coding?

Spend Saturday, January 11, 2020, exploring emerging technologies and maker activities with us!

Featured Activities

Are you ready to try the ball run challenge? This fun, open-ended engineering station allows you to create a vertical maze using recycled materials and experiment until your ping pong ball makes it successfully to the bottom!

Imagination Playground is a large-scale building kit designed for hands-on free play. Children follow their curiosity through open-ended STEAM play while learning 21st-century skills. There are no right or wrong answers; the act of playing and building is the goal, not the finished product.

Come explore the world of computer science with us! Explore dungeons, make characters dance, solve puzzles and write programs using your creativity, logic and problem-solving skills!

Explore the science of flight with Hiller Aviation, put together a balsa wood glider, and take it for a spin!

Can you get to the green and make a hole-in-one while staying out of the rough? Use easy block-based coding to navigate Sphero down the fairway!

Join us for a special STEAM Fair installment of Open Labs, an opportunity for young scientists seeking to explore, experiment and experience hands-on science with no limits to their imagination!

This week we will be making a Little Green Men Catcher! Build a platform for aliens falling from the sky!
